This beautiful, tall aster is described as an obligate wetland species, meaning, it is found only in wetland habitats. While this plant loves to have wet feet, it doesn't seem to be necessary for it to thrive. We believe it's found in wet habitats in natural areas because this is the best place to ensure the survival of its seedlings. However, we have grown it relatively dry, alongside every other native plant on sale benches, and it hasn't seemed to suffer any insult. That being said, you don't have to have a wetland to grow this plant. It grows up to 6 feet tall! Many little white/iridescent white petaled flowers on this tall spectacle of a plant. Very rare to find offered for sale! 4" pots, seed grown. Shipped in careful wrapping.
