Fall in love with this little bushy wildflower with blue leaves, and big yellow flowers! This was my first love in discovering Florida wildflowers. Grows in ruderal areas (disturbed areas) so it's a tough guy! 4" pots, shipped in careful wrapping.

Life Span: Short-lived perennial
Flower Color: Yellow
Fruit Color: Brown
Phenology: Evergreen. Some bloom all year, but at least in central Florida, most is spring and summer.
Habitats: Flatwoods, sandhill, ruderal areas.

Recommended Uses: wildflower garden.
Light:  Full Sun,  Part Shade
Moisture Tolerance: High
Salt Water Flooding Tolerance: Not salt tolerant of inundation by salty or brackish water.
Salt Spray Tolerance: Low/no tolerance of salty wind or direct salt spray
Soil/Substrate: Sand

Wildlife

 

Foliage and seeds are food source for birds and mammals.

Attracts pollinators, especially bees. Documented bees include Augochlorella aurata, Dialictzcs coreopsis and D. lniniatulus (Deyrup et al. 2002).
