This wonderful Florida scrub resident is drought tolerant, and remains evergreen throughout the year! Very sandpapery, tough foliage can withstand long periods of hot drought. Beautiful tall spires of purple flowers bring the pollinators en masse.
- Bee visitors include Agapostemon spleizdens, Augochlorella aurata, Augochloropsis suinptuosa, Coelioxys mexicana, Megachile albitarsis, M. brevis pseudobreuis, M. briinleyi, M. petulans, Boinbus impatiens and B. pennsylvanicus (Deyrup et al. 2002).
